Understanding KYC

Know Your Client (KYC) procedures are essential legal requirements under Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, serving as a crucial tool for assessing client risk. In the investment sector, KYC ensures that advisors can accurately verify a client's identity, while also gaining insights into their financial situation and investment knowledge.

Importance of KYC Documents

As a financial institution, we are dedicated to regulatory compliance, which necessitates a comprehensive KYC process for each client. The main goals of these documents are to:

  • Verify the individual's identity.
  • Confirm the absence of any fraudulent or criminal history.
  • Validate the legitimacy of the funds being used.

Our identity verification process is meticulously designed to establish a robust security framework. Given the decentralised nature of cryptocurrencies, Berrypax adheres to stringent anti-money laundering standards, risk mitigation protocols, and compliance measures in line with jurisdictional regulations. This rigorous approach aims to counteract money laundering, terrorist financing, and other illicit financial activities.

Required KYC Documents

  1. Proof of Identity: A government-issued document validating the individual's identity, such as a driver's licence, national ID card, or passport.
  2. Proof of Address: An officially issued document confirming the individual's current residence, such as a utility bill (electricity, water, gas) or a bank statement.
  3. Proof of Payment: A credit card, bank wire, or crypto wallet statement confirming deposit transactions.
  4. Declaration of Deposit: This form is sent to the client's email and must be completed and returned. It is essential for affirming the authenticity of the payment.

Clients can submit their KYC documents in two ways:
